Our life the last few months

I think it's about time that I update my blog, don't ya think?? :) I don't know how I got out of the loop.. it must of been the crazy summer or that I'm lazy. Our summer was really fun, especially with Avery being older and seeing her get so excited over the things that we took her to do. Although we had such a fun filled summer, I have to say that I was a REALLY bad picture taker!! Which isn't like me, so again, I don't know how I got out of the loop with that either. Here are some of the fun things that we did...

Paul and I are over Youth Conference for our ward and this year was the Stakes turn and they did Trek. We didn't think that we would be involved this year but they asked us to be the Ma and Pa for our kids in our ward. We were really excited about it... except for the dressing up part :)

This was the Womens Pull.... I'm glad that they had us do this... it's such a cool experience! It was VERY hard but cool to have all the men standing on the sides, silent and watching. It makes you have a lot more appreciation for these Pioneers that actually had to do it.

This was our group. They were a fun group of kids!

This was the view at the end of our Trek, the whole Salt Lake Valley. When we reached the top they give the kids letters that their parents had written them and then we all sat up there in silence for a little bit looking at the view. It was a very spiritual experience.

In July, I got Avery and I season passes to Seven Peaks. We went every week for most of the summer and Avery LOVED it! She also got black, which I was jealous about :) I didn't take any pics of the times that we were there and I'm so mad at myself for that!! Next year, right??!!

Paul's Birthday is the 4th of July and this year he turned 29! His mom, sisters and I threw him a surprise party that we knew would totally thrown him off!! And it did!! Again, SO mad at myself for not taking any pictures! It was a fun night! His mom did a big Road Ralley and we all split up in teams and did a big scavenger hunt across town. After a few of us went to Boonedocks and did some mini golf and drove the race cars! This was the only pic I got :(

The week of the 24th of July we had a week long camping trip to Jackson, Wyoming and Bear Lake. While at Jackson we went rafting down the Snake River, which is a first for me. I was totally freaked out of falling in while we were going over rapids but thank goodness it never happend.... it was after the rapids that my lovely husband decided to push me over. I actually was really mad about it.. ha ha.. it was FREEZING!! They had professionals on the sides taking pictures as your boat was going over the rapids and I couldn't figure out how to steal them and put them on here :) Sorry!! They were pretty dang funny!

Here are the pics of Bear Lake:

This was Avery the whole time on the boat! She had to stand and no one could touch her!! She just LOVED the wind and looking at all the water! :)

I just thought this picture was cute...

One of my favorite parts of camping at Bear Lake is sitting around the fire while eating your Raspberry Shake!!

I just wanted to throw in a picture or two of Avery cuz she's so pretty..
I'm saying, "Where is Avery?"

"There she is!!"

Paul's mom and dad bought a tent trailer this summer so we went on a little weekend camping trip with them to Payson Lakes. We had fun playing games and eating good food!!

Avery giving kisses to her daddy through the tent trailer window :)

One sad thing we did this summer was sell our Nissan Altima. This was once my husbands baby.. before Avery or I came along. I had so many memories in this car, but to cut down on bills we needed to sell it. I've never cried to hard for multiple days in a row over a car. Ha ha!! Now that I have some extra dough in my pocket, I'm not so sad anymore :)

Labor Day Weekend was spent at Lake Powell! This time it was done differently than normal. We camped it!! Normally we stay in hotels but since my in laws bought a tent trailer we stayed out in nature :) The water was absolutly wonderful! We joked about us all getting old because no one hardly did any of the fun things in the water. We just drove around in the boat most of the time keeping the kids asleep and exploring the canyons.

Beautiful girl

My dad also had a birthday. He turned 51 and my family went to Midway for a night. We had lots of fun considering it was only a one night thing.

Relaxing after a hot tennis match :)

This was hilarious because my dad and brother were hurting so bad!! Look at their faces... I was laughing so hard because of the things that were coming out of their mouths... that I won't repeat.

We had some awesome chicken fights and good pics of them but they aren't downloading for some reason. Sorry.

Last but not least... FAMILY PICTURES!! I thought they turned out cute! (I'm now just realizing that some of the pictures didn't download either. So, here are the ones that did.)

Our fun year isn't ending just yet! My brother gets home from his mission less than a week!! We are so excited and we have a cruise and Disneyland trip planned. Also we are finding out if we are having a boy or girl in a few weeks! I'll let ya know all about it! :)

Lake Powell

Summer feels like it begins when Memorial Day comes because that's our first official summer trip down to Lake Powell!! It's always fun to pack up and go down there for a few days and know that you have to do nothing but put your suit on, hang out on a boat all day, eat, swim and spend time with family!!

Here are the great people that make it happen!! Thanks Greg and Gayle!!

The only downside of the trip, other than the water being freezing :) , our little Avery was sick.. I'm sure us hovering over Avery was a scene you saw the whole weekend.

But somehow we always saw her smile :)

Paul's always helping me out with Avery. He's so great!

At the end of our first day, good ole' Jeff got fried crisp! I did too but I'm sparing you the pics!

The group eating dinner at our hotel

Paul was so brave to get into that bone chilling water!

I've never seen Avery so into looking at what her dad was doing!! At first she just kept laughing and laughing watching Paul wakeboard! I didn't quite get why she thought it was so funny!

I couldn't find two better pictures to end this post on. This is the face that I get to see everyday! I love her!!

Like always we had a great time! Thank you to Paul's great mom and dad for always making these fun trips happen and creating great memories! We love you both very much!!

Avery's 1st Birthday

Wow! I never thought it would take me this long to do a post on my only daughters FIRST birthday! :) Better late than never, right?? Avery had such a great birthday! She got two cakes, lots of gifts and two fun parties with all her family! It's very hard for me to believe that it's already been a year since she was born! It's been a great year and I love Avery so much! She's been nothing but pure joy for Paul and I! Hopefully it always stays that way :) We love you Avery!

Cake #1...

She dug into that thing and ate every bit of it!! That's my Avery girl!!

Opening some gifts.. doesn't she look so cute in that chair?

The Twins :)

Cake #2

And as you can see she loved the 2nd piece just as much!
